The music for this track was composed entirely using a Teenage Engineering Pocket Operator, the PO-33 to be exact. The Pocket Operators are small, ultra-portable synth devices, with studio quality sound. Each calculator shaped operator has its own distinctive character and sounds menu, with unique graphical animations. The PO-33 is a sampler and you can record through the built-in microphone and then cut, pitch and throw in a filter to the sample. After that you can sequence all the sounds and chain sequences together in order to create a song. It’s a cheap and versatile instrument and packs quite a punch.
